Love the differences

We are unique in nature, and there are no two similar living beings that live alike in any part of the universe; hence, the existence of “differences.” Differences are as common as day and night between any two living beings. Differences arise from dislikes. Dislikes are naturally unacceptable to anyone. Dislikes can be of different intensities, and these originate from incidents that occur during the course of our lives, more so from a lack of understanding and failure to let things go. No one is daring enough to accept their mistakes or to bear the feeling of shame from the occurrence. The exact opposite is daring to love the differences.
It is difficult to trace the origin of differences. It is futile to go into the origin because that itself leads to differences of opinion. It may even be difficult to answer, like the question of the egg or the chick — which came first! Let us be satisfied that it hails from the formation of the universe and that we are not the cause of it. Of course, we are followers of it. One thing is guaranteed: it will last as long as we live on this planet with imbalanced ego.
Epics have explained well the causes of differences. They are nothing but unwarranted love, lust, jealousy, greed, ill-treatment, failure to commit, deceiving, forceful encroachment, grabbing others’ property or pride, loss of senses or failure to control senses, injustice, partiality, stress, and inability to cope with time and situations. These are not the creations of God, but developments by living beings. Hence, the solution need not be sought from God; instead, a soul search will help. Love and lust in the wrong places have even rooted out the mighty.
Nipping a difference at the budding stage is of greater help than bearing the pain or turning it into a grudge. Ego is again the root cause for the swelling up of differences. A spurt of fury destroys the trust built over a period of time. Anger turns an angel into a senseless animal. The senses wear out when one fails to control the causes. It reduces even a noble person to a nuisance. Every epic amply shows nobles turning into nuisances when they fail to suppress their ego or curb their senses. In any given situation, a well-controlled sense will ease things out. One who fails will succumb to it. Keeping senses under control is “YOGA.” It does not just come naturally. One needs “sadhana” to attain it.
Avoidance of differences needs total understanding of the path. Synchronizing the senses and establishing peace around us can calm down differences. Further, ignoring the hurt leads to the burial of differences and may lay the foundation for new beginnings. Newness always blossoms with a fresh fragrance, keeps the aura pleasant, and refreshes ties. Strictly avoid all the causes of differences. Understand the reality and possibly foresee the consequences of the outcome. This practice will help control hormone levels and maintain good health too.
Establishing commonness is the key to nullifying differences. Commonness arises out of a clear understanding of each other. In any relationship, protecting the freedom and dignity of others is the hallmark of a strong relationship. A strong relationship normally nips differences at the budding stage. Rather, forgive in case such happenings occur. Ignite a relationship and ignore a lesion.
It is unfortunate that we often fail to love and feel the love of love. So, loving differences becomes even more difficult when we do not understand real love. Differences can leave two options. In a fight over disagreement, either one or both may lose the relationship that was built over a period of time. Is it not wise, at least, to allow one to retain the relationship? It is possible if at least one person understands and calms down the emotions that erupted. Time will unite both again in that bargain. It is like a plant that allows its cut branch to grow again. It happens because it does not mind the wound caused and starts repairing itself. But we, the learned, forgot the art of natural healing as we reap either “ego & fear” or both. “Ego & Fear” are the root causes of differences.
At times, however much we try to resolve issues, they keep popping up quite often and become irritating. Sorting them out amicably with concern is an ideal solution. Further, positive thinking for the prevalence of peace resolves things naturally. Keeping the mind positive and mindful is a great “YOGA.” Yoga needs practice. Practice strengthens one to handle even differences. We have survived many odds in our journey. Surely we will survive whatever comes ahead. Trust yourself and tune your senses.
